Last Friday Sophie, Frank, Stuart and Nikita (magic feet) travelled with me to Sydney to undertake our excursion to the Sydney Museum and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
The theme for the day was the Evolution of Australian Biota, so it was interesting studying some of the significant events in the evolution Australian animals and plants (biota).
Among other things, our group was introduced to a famous example of megafauna - the Diprotodon, and what an intoduction. 'She' (because she had a pouch with baby inside) stood calmy as the group had their photo taken. She only weighs about 230 kg before breakfast! But rest a assure she was not really interested in us because she was herbivorous (vegetarian).
Seriously folks! We'll post a picture to prove it.
